This happened a few years ago, but I was at Target running some errands with my two daughters. On our way out we passed the toy aisle, at which point my youngest pointed at a toy and asked, “Can I have it?” I said, “No.” This triggered a huge meltdown. She was kicking and screaming, the the point where we just had to leave. I grabbed my oldest by the hand, picked up the tantrum throwing child and made my way to the exit. It was absurd, it must’ve looked like I was abducting her she was making such a fuss, literally kicking and screaming like a crazy person. All I had done told her I wasn’t going to buy the toy she wanted. Of course the toy section is in the back too, so we had to go through the whole store to the front with where the exit is. The entire time I could just feel everyone’s eyes watching me. It was awful.
